Alice in Wonderland |

|
Release Date: March 5th, 2010
Starring: Mia Wasikowska, Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Crispin Glover, Anne Hathaway
Director: Tim Burton
Trailer
You've got a very important date.
19-year-old Alice (Mia Wasikowska) returns to the magical world from her childhood adventure, where she reunites with her old friends and learns of her true destiny: to end the Red Queen's (Helena Bonham Carter) reign of terror.
My thoughts:
The crazy directorial mind of Tim Burton meddling with the crazy world of Lewis Carols classic in a new vision of Alice in Wonderland what's not to love. Plus the trailers for the film make it look absolutly intersting and completely compelling. This should be an absolute joy ride down the rabbit hole and so much fun for the whole family.
Final Verdict: Yes.

Clash of the Titans |

|
Release Date: April 2nd, 2010
Starring: Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes
Director: Louis Leterrier
Trailer
The Clash Begins 26.3.2010
In a loose adaptation from Greek mythology, Perseus (Worthington) who was born of a god but raised as a man, sets off on an epic mission to combat Hades (Fiennes) before he can seize power from Zeus (Neeson) and unleash hell on earth.
My thoughts:
Honestly unless you are a nostalgia buff and treasure original movies and wish for them to not be changed I can't see why you wouldn't want to see this movie updated. With today's FX and technology they might be able to make this movie into a fantastic film. Plus the film has a fantasic cast of Sam Worthington fresh off Avatar, Liam Neeson, and Ralph Fiennes. This is the kind of film that could glue you to your seat and keep you there. On the other hand with all the remakes nowdays they could also make a complete and total piece of garbage you never know tell you see the movie.
Final Verdict: Yes.

Why Did I get Married Too |

|
Release Date: April 2nd, 2010
Starring: Janet Jackson, Tyler Perry, Jill Scott.
Director: Tyler Perry
Trailer
Four couples reunite for their annual vacation in order to socialize and to spend time analyzing their marriages. Their intimate week in the Bahamas is disrupted by the arrival of an ex-husband determined to win back his recently remarried wife.
My thoughts:
Tyler Perry has a huge following and many devoted fans and I am sure those who like him and his films will be flocking to see this film. I think I could handle this kind of film better than his Madea series but still these films don't interest me in the slightest.
Final Verdict: Yes if your a Tyler Perry fan, no if your like me and could care less.

Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps |

|
Release Date: April 23rd, 2010
Starring: Shia LaBeouf, Michael Douglas, Carey Mulligan
Director: Oliver Stone
Trailer
Fallen stockbroker Gordon Gekko (Douglas) teams up with a young Wall Street trader (LaBeouf), who's mentor was recently murdered, to track down the killer and warn others about an impending massive financial meltdown.
My thoughts:
Why bother making a sequel to a film that is nearly twenty five years old and at the time epiotiomized a decade. Wall Street was a perfect 80's movie in the decade of greed and overspending but nowdays the film has much less revelance and seems almost pointless to get a sequel now despite the fact that they got Douglas back and Oliver Stone is directing it. Complete cash grab.
Final Verdict: NO.

A Nightmare on Elm Street |

|
Release Date: April 30th, 2010
Starring: Jackie Earle Haley, Rooney Mara, Kyle Gallner
Director: Samuel Bayer
Trailer
Disfigured serial killer Freddy Krueger (Haley) stalks a group of young people in their dreams, forcing them to remain awake as the only alternative to death.
My thoughts:
I am torn on this on the one hand the reboot and reimagining of Friday the 13th wasn't that bad on the other hand this just seems like another pointess remake. I do like that they got Jackie Earle Haley to play Freddy and the first Nightmare on Elm Streets were very tongue in cheek humorous this actually might not be that bad of an idea if they do it right.
Final Verdict: Maybe.

Iron Man 2 |

|
Release Date: May 7th, 2010
Starring: Robert Downey Jr., Mickey Rourke, Gwyneth Paltrow
Director: Jon Favreau
Trailer
With the world now aware of his dual life as the armored superhero Iron Man, billionaire inventor Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) faces pressure from the government, the press, and the public to share his technology with the military. Unwilling to let go of his invention, Stark, along with Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow), and James "Rhodey" Rhodes (Don Cheadle) at his side, must forge new alliances -- and confront powerful enemies.
My thoughts:
To me this might be the must see movie of an otherwise kind of drab and boring summer season. The first Iron Man came completely out of left field and was one of the best movies of the year and I don't see any reason why the sequel would be any different. Downey Jr. back as Stark and Rourke as the villian this time around this might even be better than the first one.
Final Verdict: Hell Yes.

Robin Hood |

|
Release Date: May 14th, 2010
Starring: Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett, Matthew Macfadyen
Director: Ridley Scott
Trailer
The story of an expert archer (Crowe) who travels to the town of Nottingham toward the end of the 12th century, where the acts of a despotic sheriff (Macfadyen) and the presence of a beautiful widow (Blanchett) inspire him to assembles a gang of mercenaries bent on raiding the upper class as a way to correct the sheriff's injustices.
My thoughts:
Ughhh. Nothing about this even seems remotely good. It just seems like they are trying to bank on Russel Crowe and his Gladiator fame to try and bring back the legend of Sherwood Forest for one more go around. The trailers don't even make it look remotely interesting
Final Verdict: NO.

|
Shrek Forever After |

|
Release Date: May 14th, 2010
Starring: Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, Eddie Murphy
Director: Mike Mitchell
Trailer
A bored and domesticated Shrek (Myers) pacts with deal-maker Rumpelstiltskin to get back to feeling like a real ogre again, but when he's duped and sent to a twisted version of Far Far Away -- where Rumpelstiltskin is king, ogres are hunted, and he and Fiona (Diaz) have never met -- he sets out to restore his world and reclaim his true love.
My thoughts:
I have kind of grown weary of the Shrek series which at one time was pretty good. It might have been the lackluster third installment or the fact thay they are now onto a fourth movie I just can't find myself caring that much about this movie despite the fact the first two were pretty good films.
Final Verdict: Maybe.

|
Sex and the City 2 |

|
Release Date: May 28th, 2010
Starring: Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis
Director: Michael Patrick King
Trailer
Plot unknown but I am sure it will have something to do with shoes and a closet at one point and lots of shots of New York City.
My thoughts:
I actually didn't find the first film to be that unbearable despite the fact that I had never seen an episode of the tv series. I mean it was pretty run of the mill chick flick kind of stuff but it was bearable and not entirely terrible. Am I excited about sequel no not at all but I am sure fans of the series are jumping for joy knowing this is on the horizon.
Final Verdict: Yes and No.

The A-Team |

|
Release Date: June 11th, 2010
Starring: Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper, Sharlto Copley
Director: Joe Carnahan
Trailer
A group of Iraq War veterans looks to clear their name with the U.S. military, who suspect the four men of committing a crime for which they were framed.
My thoughts:
The iconic 80's series doesn't really stand up today if you go back an watch it. While it was big in its time it really just isn't that good anymore. This is another of those remakes where it feels like they have run out of ideas so they are dragging the well of old tv shows to come up with scripts rather than developing something new.
Final Verdict: No.

|
The Karate Kid |

|
Release Date: June 11th, 2010
Starring: Jackie Chan, Jaden Smith, Taraji P. Henson
Director: Harald Zwart
Trailer
Work pressures cause a single mother (Henson) to move to China with her young son (Smith); in his new home, the boy embraces karate, taught to him by a master of the self-defense form (Chan).
My thoughts:
I don't think I have ever seen a worse idea for a remake EVER. Just watching the trailer made me want to throw things as this is the most autrocious thing I have ever seen. Jaden Smith as a black ghetto kid replacing Ralph Machio and Jackie Chan replacing Pat Morita as Mr Miagi in a film that looks so bad that it makes you want to hurl. Even worse with WIll Smith as a producer evidently pimping his kid in a film that should never have been remade much less remade so horribly.
Final Verdict: Oh Hell No!!!

Toy Story 3 |

|
Release Date: June 18th, 2010
Starring: Tom Hanks, Tim Allen
Director: Lee Unkrich
Trailer
Woody (Tom Hanks), Buzz (Tim Allen), and the rest of their toy-box friends are dumped in a day-care center after their owner, Andy, departs for college.
My thoughts:
I had actually really been enjoying the original pixar stories of late and while Toy Story is still one of my favorite Pixar storylines I am a little saddened that this years Pixar movie is a sequel. But that being said who isn't excited about the return of Buzz and Woody and all their toy friends as Pixar always delivers and Toy Story is a fantastic set of movies.
Final Verdict: Yes.

Eclipse |

|
Release Date: June 30th, 2010
Starring: Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner
Director: David Slade
Trailer
Bella Swan (Stewart) oscillates between vampire Edward Cullen, who wants Bella's hand in marriage, and werewolf Jacob Black, who has just declared his love for her. Meanwhile, the Cullens and the Quileute werewolves unite to stop an army of powerful vampires from seeking their revenge on Bella.
My thoughts:
Honestly the movies have been better than the books which were utter trash and horrible litetature. But I guess when you are coming from such a lowpoint its not hard to improve. But for some reason this series of films just seems to be how fast can we make cash and lets not care about the fans because they will swallow anything we release. Short budgets, quick release dates and already onto a 3rd director for the three movies and what seems like an utter lack of respect for anything except making a fast buck and this film smells of disaster.
Final Verdict: Maybe.

Predators |

|
Release Date: July 9th, 2010
Starring: Adrien Brody, Laurence Fishburne, Topher Grace
Director: Nimród Antal
Trailer
A group of elite warriors are hunted by members of a merciless alien race.
My thoughts:
I don't know what to think of this movie after the last Alien Vs Predator film that was just plain horrible it seems crazy to reboot this series. The original Predator movie was made by the presense of Arnold and the sequel just wasn't as good without him plus neither Alien Vs Predator movies were that great with the first one just being ok and the second one being terrible. I think that this might just be the kind of series to leave alone and let it rest in peace even if it does sport a pretty good cast.
Final Verdict: Maybe.

|
Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore |

|
Release Date: July 30th, 2010
Starring: Bette Midler, Chris O'Donnell, Jack McBrayer
Director: Brad Peyton
Trailer
The ongoing war between the canine and feline species is put on hold when they join forces to thwart a rogue cat spy with her own sinister plans for conquest.
My thoughts:
What is it about making sequels to movies that are nearly a decade old even if they were family friendly. Does anyone even remember the first Cats and Dogs film and the original audience has grown up and likely moved on by now. This just seems like a poor idea and something that seemed so easy for the studios to make rather than gamble on a new idea.
Final Verdict: NO.

|
Piranha 3-D |

|
Release Date: August 27th, 2010
Starring: Elisabeth Shue, Jerry O'Connell, Richard Dreyfuss
Director: Alexandre Aja
Trailer
A tremor under the surface of Lake Victoria unleashes scores of prehistoric piranhas, an event which rallies the local sheriff (Shue) who will risk everything to save her townsfolk.
My thoughts:
I don't know whether to laugh or cry about this movie. Piranha was a movie that was made to try and capitalize in the success of Jaws during the 1970's and was notoriously bad back then and now to try and make a remake of a movie that was a ripoff a more popular and better movie is just funny. Then of course adding the gimmick of 3-D this movie might be worth seeing just to laugh at.
Final Verdict: Maybe.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I |

|
Release Date: November 19th, 2010
Starring: Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Helena Bonham Carter, Ralph Fiennes, Alan Rickman
Director: David Yates
Trailer
Voldemort's power is growing stronger. He now has control over the Ministry of Magic and Hogwarts. Harry, Ron, and Hermione decide to finish Dumbledore's work and find the rest of the Horcruxes to defeat the Dark Lord. But little hope remains for them, so everything they do must go as planned.
My thoughts:
I wonder why the decision was made now to split the movies into two parts rather that earlier. Deathly Hallows which involves a lot of camping could have been very likely done in one film and edited much like the last three movies were edited to get it to the big screen. But despite this obvious cash grab this film still has me pumped as we finally get to see half of the conclusion to one of the big motion picture series and books in our era. To finally see them wrap up this wonderful series is something to be very excited about.
Final Verdict: Hell Yes.

Sin City 2 |

|
Release Date: 20011
Starring: Jessica Alba, Devon Aoki, Rosario Dawson, Jaime King, Brittany Murphy, Clive Owen, Mickey Rourke
Director: Robert Rodriquez
It's one of those hot nights, dry and windless. The kind that makes people do sweaty, secret things. Dwight's thinking of all the ways he's screwed up and what he'd give for one clear chance to wipe the slate clean, to dig his way out of the numb gray hell that is his life. And he'd give anything. Just to cut loose. Just to feel the fire. One more time.
Dwight is experiencing some problems when him and his girlfriend, Ava Lord, get reunited, Nancy wants to avenge Hartigan's death by going after the Roarks, a man in the military gets mysteriously killed while trying to cook a rat, and we get to explore some details in Hartigan's past.
My thoughts:
If this sequel ever happens it is a must a see but who knows if it will ever happen. Sin City was like watching a comic book leap off the pages and there is so much more story that can be told and that should be told, I don't know how you couldn't be excited about a sequel. Some of the more awesome characters like Marv may be gone but the movie still should have no let down.
Final Verdict: Hell, Yes!

Adventures in Babysitting |

|
Release Date: 2008
Starring: Raven Symone
Director: None so far
Raven Symone (That's So Raven) is attached to star in the Walt Disney Pictures remake of Adventures in Babysitting, says The Hollywood Reporter.
The 1987 "Babysitting," which starred Elisabeth Shue, followed a high school senior who gets stuck baby-sitting a bunch of kids. The dull night is interrupted when she gets a call for help from a friend stuck downtown, leading her and the kids into a night of misadventures. The movie marked the directorial debut of Chris Columbus.
Lynda Obst, who produced the 1987 original with Debra Hill, is on board to produce the remake. David Stem and David Weiss wrote the script for the new "Babysitting." No director has been named yet.
My thoughts:
This clearly fits in the why god why category. I mean the original which is somewhat of an 80's cult classic does not need to be remade. Heck the movie isn't even 20 years old yet and this seems like another betrayal of Hollywood ruining every good movie ever made. And getting Raven Symone for pete's sake to star, the former Cosby show "I am cute so please still keep watching us girl" feels like a slap in the face.
Final Verdict: A Resounding No!

Jurassic Park 4 |

|
Release Date: Summer 2006
Starring: Keira Knightley (in talks), Sam Neill (Dr. Alan Grant); other cast not announced yet.
Director: Stephen Spielberg
There are no confirmed details about this sequel. One rumor is that it may involve the return of Nick Van
Owen (Vaughn), although in what capacity isn't known. The last we saw his character, he was handling the Lost World problem
in San Diego. If there's any truth to that, it suggests the story may next pick up, not on Isla Sorna, but on a much bigger
island... North America (since this is what many fans would love to see, however, it's possible the whole Vince Vaughn thing
could be wishful thinking, hoping to spur just such a film). (4/19/02) Anderson Jones of E! Online reports that the fourth
movie may "pretend Jurassic Park III never happened." I wouldn't read that the wrong way... they probably just mean there
would be no references to that film's events/characters.
My thoughts:
Why the first one was so good was because it was the first time CGI ever really true are socks off and came into its own. The idea was fun and to see it come to life even funner. But what now, the sequels were all pretty bad and the CGI doesn't blow us away anymore. Let sleeping dinosaurs lie.
Final Verdict: No.

Mad Max: Fury Road |

|
Release Date: TBA
Starring: Mel Gibson
Director: George Miller
Well, this movie is now completely revitalized at a new studio (Fox rather than Universal) which seems to
be as excited and gung-ho about the prospects ($104 million budget!) as Univeral seemed to be reluctant and skeptical. The
title is to be "Fury Road", filming starts in May, and this is now primed to be one of the biggest tentpole releases of 2004.
My thoughts:
This movie now doesn't look like it will be made which is kind of a good thing. Most audiences nowdays won't evwn know who Mad Max is and seems Mel Gibson has lost his mind so it's better if the movie that even had a working title never sees the light of day.
Final Verdict: No.
