CIA operative Kevin Pope is suave, brilliant, and is undercover in the Czech Republic as an antiques dealer who is right on the verge of completing a top-secret mission to keep a rogue nuclear weapon off the black market. Gaylord Oakes is his partner who is brought into to be the buyer of the nuclear weapon but when rival buyers decide to eliminate the competition Kevin is suddenly killed. But neither those who tried to kill Kevin nor the sellers of the nuclear weapon know that he is dead and their still might be a chance to salvage the operation. With the clock ticking and no other options available, the CIA reluctantly enlists Kevin's long-lost identical twin brother, Jake to take his place. But since Jake is the mirror opposite of Kevin, a working-class Joe who hustles tickets and grew up in foster homes, it's up to veteran CIA agent Gaylord Oakes to train him within 9 days to become a spy. But while Jake is just as smart as his brother he is not a willing participant of the operation and is in it only for the money so that his girlfriend won’t leave him and move to Seattle with a job offer she has received. Also the CIA has decided to keep Jake in the dark about many of the secrets involving the case like the fact his brother was murdered and that they might now be hunting Jake. So when all chaos breaks loose while Jake is trying to impersonate his brother, Jake now begins to have seconds thoughts about the deal and may try to find away out of it.

I cannot think of one single movie where this stupid, silly twin angle has ever worked. But yet Hollywood still thinks it should throw it out at use whenever they can. Maybe they think it’s a cute angle, maybe they think its funny, maybe they have no better ideas so they rehash an idiotic premise so they can make a movie, but whatever the reason it always fails. This movie is no exception as the twin angle makes absolutely no sense and they just seem to forget about a thousand plot holes they open by using it. Like for example the CIA had absolutely no trouble finding Jake after his brother was dead but why would Kevin never try and find him if it was going to be so silly. Also the interaction between Rock and Hopkins was forced and trite. These two actors never developed any type of on screen chemistry and seemed to just want to get through the movie as quickly as possible. This may because the script was so weak that even the best actors in Hollywood could not have saved this movie from a dismal making. Granted the movie does have some funny moments and even some goon one liners but is it worth the nearly two hours of weak plot, poor acting and silly story lines, No.
