In California the motorcycling racing and bite circuit is ruled by one man Smoke. He is the king of all racing and has never lost a race. It has brought him fame and quite a small fortune in his little world. Working for him as his mechanic is his best friend and most trusted confidant Slick Willy. But during a race that goes all wrong his friend is killed and his son Kid is crushed. Kid had also worked for Smoke as his mechanic but he turns bitter towards Smoke believing that his father was better than to have to kiss up to Smoke. He also wants to be a racer himself but Smoke and his father wouldn’t give him a chance. He disappears for a while and tries to find himself after his father’s death. But he finds he loves racing and motorcycles too much. So he is returning to the circuit to show he has something to prove and to try and win the girl whom he loves. But he is met with all sorts of opposition as he doesn’t want to join one of the current gangs and Smoke won’t give him credit. So with two unlikely sidekicks he begins his own gang the Biker Boyz. But it’s not as simple as that as his mother tries to stop him from racing and no one respects him. But he is determined to prove them all wrong and he will face off against the King himself in hopes of bringing him down and taking over his reign.

Ok what can I say about this sorry excuse for a movie that would be worthy of the cruel punishment it administers against its audience in heavy doses of boredom. First off there is way too little action happening for a movie that totes itself as an action/adventure movie. And what action it does have is weak willed and very uninspiring. Secondly the movie tries to go for some type of drama or should I say melodrama in a lot of its story and plot lines and fails miserably. I can’t imagine anybody being interested in these flat one-dimensional characters. The actors performances are so weak that you wonder if they are just walking through the movie in hopes that they will get a paycheck and nobody will hold the movie against them. Fishburne who plays Smoke and made fame with his great performance a couple years ago in The Matrix is so flat in the movie at times you have to wonder if he cared about the character he was portraying. And Derek Luke must have been simply picked for eye candy for the ladies as his performance is so over the top at times you just want them do anything except ;et him try and act. This movie might have been saved had they utilized any exciting action or stunts but they didn’t. They seemed to think they could get by with the occasional race and pad the rest of the movie with their melodramatic soap opera. The main thing to keep in mind when seeing this movie is what is the amount of boredom you can put up with. Don’t pay admission for this one, maybe don’t even try to sneak in.
