The Duncan’s seem to have the perfect life; they are happy and are doing what they love to do. Paul Duncan is a high school math teacher and his wife Jessie is a small time photographer and they have a son Adam they love very much. While considering whether or not to move to the country and away from the crime of the city, there is a terrible freak accident that claims the life of their son Adam. Now, lost and adrift and grieving for their lost child Dr. Richard Well’s approaches them about stem cell research that could possible bring Adam back to life through an experimental (and illegal) cloning and regeneration process. But there is many risks involved in such a dangerous procedure, as well as sacrifices. Because of its highly illegal nature they would have to sever all ties with family and friends and move to the country to be secluded from all outside. Although Paul is against it because of its highly immoral issues, they decide to go though with the procedure because they are unable to have children again. Everything seems fine at first as Adam is reborn and begins his life anew. He seems to be the same, sound the same and for a little while the Duncan’s are happy once more. But after he reaches the age of eight when he died previously everything seems to go awry. And while Adam has come back to them, however, he's... different.
If you have seen the trailer, you have seen essentially the first half hour of this movie. Which is interesting because once you get past that point you have absolutely no idea what is going to happen and it sets you into a tail spin wondering where the movie is going and what will happen next. You cannot help but be entirely enthralled by the movie as it leads you on an unexpected ride of thrills and chills. I have to admit I jumped several times in the movie, as it is truly freaky. I don’t know if I’d call it terrifying but it definitely sets you on edge when you see it. There is just no way you can tell where the movie is going to take you and that is half the fun of the movie. I really like thrillers like this that are more driven by the action and the drama on the screen to frighten you, rather than the typical horror blood fests. I thought Cameron Bright who played Adam to truly capture the character as he just seems to get more evil looking and sounding as the movie progresses which gives you quite the shock from an actor who is so young. The movie is really quite the treat as far as thrillers go, as you will find yourself drawn into the story and maybe even a little terrified by this excellently done movie that can be easily classified as spine tingling.
