After smearing the world with all sorts of ridiculous crap, the original creators and cast of the MTV series are back at it again: significantly raising the stakes and lowering the bar, this installment in the "jackass" and "jackass the movie" series unleashes a spirited mess of absurdity as the cast and crew gets even more ugly around the globe.
Rating and reviewing a movie like Jackass, is like rating and reviewing a demolition derby, there is no real point to either and you get it or you don’t there is no middle ground. The movie is going to make you laugh or its not as imbeciles basically torture themselves and dare each other to do things no sane person would ever do. The movie is like being on a weekend long binge, so drunk that you would be willing to do things that if you were sober would seem like the most idiotic things to do but because you have lost almost all your inhibitions you find yourself doing these things because sometimes being drunk makes you stupid. And for the Jackass people, money and thoughts of fame make them stupid, But at least for them they are getting paid to be stupid and your paying to laugh at their stupidity, so laugh away Johnny Knoxville is no longer hurting for money and he earns every dollar he makes when he gets gored by a bull, or shot off a rocket or punched in the nuts.
I have to hand it to the Jackass people, they found away to make money and become famous doing things that no sane person would ever do and for that my hats off to them, Because its funny to laugh at stupid people, I am sorry it just is. That might not be politically correct but it’s the truth, everyone, everywhere, finds themselves laughing at their friends or coworkers when they do something idiotic as long as that person doesn’t get hurt and the Jackass people have cashed in on that. They have found away to stay fairly healthy while doing stupid things and that’s the trick because we might not laugh if Knoxville didn’t get up but we do laugh because he does get up and he does take another shot to the balls and for that I salute him.
No story, no plot, no acting and yet Jackass the television show and its movies adaptations are pure success in Hollywood. They are funny, true there was moments when I turned my head and even one where I closed my eyes but for the most part I found myself laughing at Knoxville and pals just like the rest of theatre. People who go to this movie are the people it is geared towards and for that reason most of them will walk out satisfied and entertained, just like I did.
