Bill is a ruthless crime lord who is in command of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad an elite squad of killers and assassins. But when one of their members the Black Mambo wishes to leave the group and settle down to a more mundane life Bill takes exception to this. He sends in her former team to kill her, her husband, her unborn child and all those who are unlucky enough to be in the chapel on her wedding day. They succeed in all these events except one and that is actually killing her, instead just killing everyone else around her and putting in her in a four year long coma. Now awake after her long sleep, the bride wishes for nothing more than revenge and vengeance for all the crimes committed against her. But there are a few problems that she must take care of first like the fact that she is in a hospital bed with legs that won’t work after not being used for four long years. If she can solve her immediate situation she has vowed to wipe out each and every single member of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad one by one ending with her killing Bill last of all. Easier said than done though as each of the members are highly skilled at what they do, but with a little help, a little luck and a whole lot of skill the Black Mambo will have her revenge.

Quentin Tarantino has a directing style that is so different than any other director in Hollywood it is hard to not be enamored by his movies. It is the refreshing changes, the wiliness to take chances, and an excellent talent at involving you in the story that makes him great and so much fun to watch. That being said Quentin Tarantino has a tendency to try and test the boundaries of what movies should be allowed to do and at times he can go too far. Was all the violence and blood necessary, probably not, was the movie unnecessarily gratuitous, probably so, but was the movie a blast to watch and action packed beginning to end, most definitely so. Some people might find this movie highly offensive, while those who love Tarantino’s work and his style will absolutely love it, I happen to be in that latter group. I was engrossed in the movie from start to finish to an extent I haven’t been in quite a while. I have never seen a director incorporate so many different elements to tell a story from Japanese anime, to overly and obviously on purpose cheesy blood splattering scenes. The timeline of the movie follows the typical Tarantino formula meaning it is in no particular order and almost seems random at times tell you reach the end and realize Tarantino has been steering you exactly where he wanted you to go. The movie has some of the better fight scenes in quite some time and even though some of it seemed unrealistic it was easy to buy into since they were executed with such grace and skill. I would not suggest this movie to the faint of heart or those easily offended but I would highly suggest it to those who love action, those who love adventure, those who love fights splattered with blood and gore and most especially for those who love Quentin Tarantino movies.
