After suffering the humiliation of being given the third degree by his girlfriend's father who use to work for the CIA, one man now faces the even more embarrassing task of introducing his own mother and father. After getting off on the wrong foot (to put it mildly) with his prospective in-laws, Greg Focker has finally won the grudging approval of Jack and Dina Byrnes to marry their daughter Pam. But after clearing the first hurdle, now Greg has to face an even bigger challenge -- introducing the straight-laced Byrnes family to his folks, free-spirited sex therapist Roz and eccentrically open-minded Bernie, who blend with Pam's parents not quite as well as oil and water. The hyper-relaxed Fockers and the tightly-wound Byrneses are woefully mismatched from the start, and no matter how hard Greg and Pam try, there is just no bringing their families together-which all adds up to a disastrously funny time of "getting to know you."

This is a movie that totally surprised me, as while the first one was truly hilarious, I didn’t know if Ben Stiller could slip back into that average everyday Joe character ala Meet the Parents, There’s Something About Mary. Lately it seems Stiller’s idea of comedy has been a silly costume and overacting that could kill a horse, neither of which are funny or the least bit comedic. But he managed to pull it off although their were moments where he almost lost it and he slipped back into his idea of what he thinks is funny: overacting. But the movie was quite hilarious and rarely missed a beat in making you laugh. The movie has a lot more sexual overtones than the previous one as they had a lot of fun with the sexual humor and which for the most part was the most hilarious moments of the film. It is also really good if you are seeing the movie with a significant other as all the sex jokes just work at a better level if seen with someone you can laugh about and share all the little sexual references.

I was initially very skeptical about the casting of Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand as Greg’s parents as it didn’t seem the best choice. Barbra Streisand might be as bad of an actor as she is a singer luckily Dustin Hoffman was there to save her and the film. Dustin Hoffman easily stole the show much like Robert De Niro did in the original. All the funniest and humorous moments in the movie where when he was heavily involved. The movie might not be as good as the original and it loses a little of its uniqueness being a sequel, but it was hilarious and fun to watch.
