Lt. A.K. Waters is a loyal veteran officer of a Navy S.E.A.L unit whom is stationed in Nigeria. He has been sent on missions to remove members from the U.S. Embassy after a civil war has torn the country in half. A rebel general who has taken over the country has assassinated the new president of the country. But the general is a brutal and vicious man who has begun to execute anybody of the wrong religion. He must now deal with the gritty realism of human conflict as Lt. Waters has a new mission to rescue Dr. Lena Kendricks a U.S. citizen who is running a mission in the countryside. But when he's sent into the heart of Africa, the usually hard-bitten Waters finds himself deeply conflicted at having to choose between following orders and the dictates of his own conscience. But when Lt. Waters arrives Dr. Kendricks refuses to abandon the refugees under her care. She implores Waters to escort them on a dangerous trek through the dense jungle to the nearby border. But Waters surprises himself after he has completed his mission he tells the choppers to go back and try and protect the refugees rather then abandon them to certain death. But he has disobeyed direct orders, his superior will not risk the choppers, and they will all have to walk through the jungle to Cameroon to be rescued. During the journey the S.E.A.L.s find themselves the unwitting guardians of a man sought by the rebel militia. This further endangers their already hazardous mission, but all the while strengthening Waters' resolve to protect Lena and the refugees, and to deliver them safely across the border and to complete his mission.

The movie is so slow at times that you wonder if they even have a purpose in mind as you struggle though a set up that takes over an hour to even get going. Nothing really happens in the movie tell well over an hour and half as elapsed and you are near boredom as you have long found yourself uninterested in anything that is going on anymore. The last half hour of the movie is quite superb and very well done but it doesn’t make up for the rest of the movie that is uninspired and boring. The movie is trying to copy other recent popular movies like Black Hawk Down but instead of using true events it has come up with fictional ones, which loses the power the movie might have had. While the conflict and strife is real in Africa, the characters and situations were not and made the movie almost seem frivolous at times. Few actors could have pulled this movie off and Bruce Willis is the only bright spot in the humdrum movie. The problem is that even Willis could not save the plot and story of this movie that is very weak. Don’t waste your time seeing this movie in the theatres as you would be better off just renting it and saving a little money.
