Derek Zoolander is a flighty male model that thinks the most important thing in the world is the fashions he exhibits while he walks down the runway. But he is about to be recruited in a plot to assassinate the prime minister of Malaysia because of his opposition to child labor. The idea of this is that child labor is necessary to the economic health of the fashion industry, and so its opponents must be eliminated. So they have kidnapped Derek and are brainwashing him to commit this heinous crime. But Hansel who is Derek’s archrival on the runways and with whom he competes against in a series of utterly senseless contests soon becomes involved and he may be Derek’s only hope of not becoming the next fall guy for the fashion industry. So with the help of Hansel, Derek must set out to destroy the evil minions who plan to rule the world through the fashion industry.

The movie is suppose to be a parody of the fashion industry as it mocks it and tries to be funny. But instead this movie was the typical garbage that Hollywood has been trying to cram down our throats for several years. The movie was not funny and what few parts that did actually make you chuckle were so far apart that you wondered if the movie was ever going to end. Many movies now days are mocking movies of certain genres like cop movies or horror movies but it is hard to find any sense in this movie that tried to mock the selfish uppity world that is fashion. Instead the movie is an offensive boredom on the senses as it also may be offensive to countries around the world with its stupid plot lines and story. The scenes that are suppose to be funny like Stiller and Wilson’s contests are utterly inane and not funny. It is like the movie is trying so hard to be funny that they have actually forgotten what funny is. I can see the actors and producers laughing backstage at their own idiocy or maybe they just didn’t care that they were making such utter garbage that assault the senses of the movie goers. Whichever reason it is these people should not be allowed to make movies ever again. The only positive thing I can say for the movie and that’s not saying much is that it at least it did not resort to gross out humor thank god the movie was bad enough without such scenes. The orgy seen although could be considered borderline but at least it was short lived. Don’t rent it, don’t see it, and don’t waste your time.
